A: Gray. #Model-LF300XSB Yamaha Outboard – LF300XSB 25-Inch Shaft | Counter Rotation | Digital Electronic Control (DEC) | Electric Start | Power Trim & Tilt | EFI with Variable Camshaft Timing | Gray The Yamaha LF300XSB is the counter-rotating version of Yamaha’s 300 HP V6, meant for folks running twin engines who want the boat to feel calmer and easier to steer. It’s based on the 4.2-liter V6 platform Yamaha has used offshore for years, so the power delivery is strong and steady, and it jumps onto plane without much drama. The VCT and EFI help the motor pull smoothly through the midrange, which is usually where offshore boats spend most of their time anyway. The 25-inch shaft keeps the prop deep enough on most offshore transoms, and the counter-rotation really shows its value when you’re easing into a dock or trying to hold position in wind or current. The DEC controls take the mechanical “slop” out of the throttle and shifting — it feels clean and immediate, which makes long days at the helm a bit easier. ⚠️ Important: This is a DEC motor and can’t be installed at home. A Yamaha dealer has to flash and program it with Yamaha’s diagnostic tools. Yes, although it’s mainly intended for twin-engine setups that need counter-rotation. Q:What’s different about the Pearl White finish? It gives the engine a premium look and holds up well in sun and saltwater. Q:Does this require dealer installation? Yes. DEC engines must be installed and programmed with Yamaha diagnostic tools. #Model-LF300ECB Yamaha Outboard – LF300ECB 35-Inch Shaft | Counter Rotation | DEC (Digital Electronic Control) | Electric Start | Power Trim & Tilt | EFI with VCT | Gray The Yamaha LF300ECB is built for offshore boats that need extra propeller depth, strong mid-range power, and confident handling in rough water. With its 35-inch shaft, this model is aimed at tall-transom offshore hulls where keeping the prop in clean water makes all the difference. The counter-rotation setup helps balance steering torque when running twins or triples, giving the operator smoother handling at all speeds. This engine uses Yamaha’s 4.2-liter V6 with Variable Camshaft Timing and EFI, a combination known for quick throttle response, clean acceleration, and good fuel economy for a motor in this class. The Gray finish gives it a clean, factory look and is built to stand up to long-term saltwater use. ⚠️ Important: This is a Digital Electronic Control (DEC) engine. Installation and setup must be performed by an authorized Yamaha dealer. The engine and control system require flashing and programming with Yamaha diagnostic tools. DIY installation is not supported. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why would I choose a 35-inch shaft?A: It’s meant for boats with higher transoms or offshore conditions where the prop needs to stay fully submerged. Q: Does this work with standard rigging?A: It requires Yamaha DEC rigging components
which are sold separately. Q
Can I install this engine myself?A: No. It must be installed and programmed by a certified Yamaha dealer using Yamaha diagnostic equipment. #Model-LF300ECB2 Yamaha Outboard – LF300ECB2 35-Inch Shaft | Counter Rotation | Digital Electronic Control (DEC) | Electric Start | Power Trim & Tilt | EFI with Variable Camshaft Timing | Pearl White The Yamaha LF300ECB2 is the counter-rotating, extra-long-shaft version of Yamaha’s offshore 300-horsepower V6. It’s built for big boats that need extra prop depth and better steering balance when running twins or triples. With a 35-inch shaft, this motor sits deeper in the water, which helps keep the prop hooked up when the boat is climbing through heavy chop or carrying a serious offshore load. Powered by Yamaha’s 4.2-liter V6 with Variable Camshaft Timing and EFI, the LF300ECB2 delivers strong acceleration and clean midrange power without drinking fuel unnecessarily. The Pearl White finish gives it a premium look and also holds up well in saltwater thanks to Yamaha’s corrosion-resistant coatings. DEC controls make throttle adjustments and shifting feel smooth and predictable, so the boat responds exactly the way you expect it to. ⚠️ Important: This is a DEC model and must be installed and programmed by an authorized Yamaha dealer using Yamaha diagnostic tools.
