How we make money

Last updated September 2026

A site that recommends products has an obvious conflict of interest. Here is ours, stated plainly, so you can judge what we say with it in mind.

Affiliate commission, and nothing else

Merchants pay us a percentage when someone buys through our links. That is our only revenue. We do not run display advertising, we do not charge merchants for placement, and we do not sell subscriptions.

What we refuse

  • Paid rankings. No merchant can buy a better position. Ranking is by how well a product matches what you asked for. If you have agreed to the profile cookie, results that match equally well are ordered with the department you have been looking at first — it breaks ties and never moves a worse match above a better one. The search page names it and you can switch it off there for that search.
  • Selling your data. We do not sell or share personal information. See our privacy policy for what we actually store, which is less than you might expect.
  • Fake urgency. No invented countdowns, no "only 2 left" unless the merchant's feed says so.

The limit you should know about

We can only show what we can see. Our catalogue comes from merchants with affiliate programs we have joined, so it is not the whole market. When a category here is thin, it is usually because we have few merchants in it — not because there is little to buy.

Checking a price against the merchant directly, or against a retailer we do not cover, is always a reasonable thing to do.
